University Pharmacy has proudly served our community for more than 40 years. Nearly four years ago, the pharmacy entered a new chapter when it came under new ownership, with a renewed commitment to preserving the personalized service of an independent community pharmacy while expanding the services we can provide.
Since taking ownership, one of my primary focuses has been to grow and expand our compounding services and increase awareness of what customized medications can offer. Many patients—and even healthcare providers—are surprised to learn just how many medications can be compounded and how many different needs can be addressed through customized medication therapy.
A major part of our mission is education. We work with patients and prescribers to help them better understand the possibilities of compounding and how medications can often be customized when commercially manufactured products don't adequately meet a patient's individual needs. This may include adjusting strengths or dosage forms, eliminating certain ingredients, or developing individualized formulations in collaboration with a patient's healthcare provider.
We believe pharmacy should be more than simply dispensing medication. Our goal is to be a resource for both patients and prescribers—helping identify options, solve medication-related challenges, and find practical solutions that may improve a patient's care.
While compounding has become an important part of our growth, University Pharmacy remains a full-service independent community pharmacy. We continue to provide traditional prescription services along with personalized pharmacist consultations, immunizations, prescription delivery, telehealth access, and other convenient healthcare services.
After more than four decades of serving our community, University Pharmacy continues to evolve. What hasn't changed is our commitment to personal service, individualized care, and taking the time to help our patients find the solutions they need.
