Accessibility.
Our commitment, and how to tell us something isn't working.
The claims on this page describe how the site was actually built and tested — contrast checked, keyboard operable, reduced motion respected, no horizontal scroll down to 320px. It stops short of claiming conformance, because a conformance claim needs an independent audit. Commission one before launch if the pharmacy wants to state conformance outright.

What we are aiming for
This site is built against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA. That is the standard most public-facing healthcare sites in the United States are measured against.
What that means in practice
- Text and background colours are checked for contrast, including the small type and the text over photographs.
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- Every photograph carries a text description, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers rather than described.
- Form fields have real labels, required fields are marked in text as well as colour, and errors are described in words.
- Headings run in order so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
- A “skip to main content” link is the first thing on every page.
- Movement and animation are switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion, and nothing on the site flashes.
- Pages work at 200% zoom and down to a 320-pixel-wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
- The map is not loaded until you ask for it, so the page is usable without it.
Where we know there is more to do
Accessibility is not a one-off task. This site has been tested by its builders but has not yet been through an independent audit or been tested with a range of assistive technology by the people who rely on it. That testing is worth doing before launch.
